Emergency Medicine Society &Residency

The Good Samaritans congratulate Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy on the Ministry of Health's approval of the first Emergency Medicine Residency in the country AND our all colleagues in Vietnam for the establishment of the Vietnam Society of Emergency Medicine. This is another milestone for medicine in Vietnam.

Dr. James Holmes is a Professor of Emergency Medicine at UC Davis School of Medicine.  In addition to being a practicing physician in the UC Davis Emergency Department, a Level 1 trauma center and one of the busiest blunt trauma centers in the United States, he is a very accomplished and well-funded researcher.  

Dr. Holmes has focused both his clinical and research career on the care of injured patients.  His research has specifically focused on the initial evaluation and management of the trauma patient with a special focus on injured children.  His research has been funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Maternal and Child Health Bureau, the Emergency Medical Services for Children, the California Office of Traffic Safety, and several foundations.  In addition, Dr. Holmes founded and directs the UC Davis Emergency Medicine Research Fellowship. 

Finally, Dr. Holmes is an accomplished lecturer and has been invited to numerous national and international conferences to speak on a variety of trauma topics.
